12 Trees of Christmas at the Gardiner Museum

Every holiday season the Gardiner Museum in Toronto hosts the popular exhibition 12 Trees of Christmas. Now in its 27th year, this Toronto tradition is a great way to see cutting-edge art that celebrates this festive time of year. The city’s most renowned artists and designers create dazzling renditions of the most famous symbol of Christmas. Each tree is crafted with the support of generous individuals or companies who help keep this celebration alive. Their sponsorship is an important part of the Gardiner Museum’s mission.

Twelve of Canada’s leading artists and designers were asked to come up with their own unique vision for a Christmas tree. Curated by architect and interior designer Dee Dee Eustace, the results take this traditional holiday decoration in a bold direction beyond green branches and sparkling lights. They have completely reimagined the Christmas tree as we know it. Playing with shapes, size and colors, these artistic creations will inspire your imagination and bring you a new kind of holiday wonder.

The Gardiner Museum is right around the corner from our hotel. From your stylish hotel room, you can walk to the museum in just minutes. You can also visit the Royal Ontario Museum which is right across the street. The 12 Trees of Christmas exhibit is on view until January 3, 2016.
