Halloween in Toronto, Ontario

Halloween in Toronto is a real treat, so get your costume together, grab some friends, and take to the Toronto streets for some good old-fashioned fall fun. For those looking to be seen, Halloweek should do the trick. It runs from October 24 to October 31st on historic Church Street at the cultural core of Toronto’s Queer Village. This week-long celebration is full of good eye-candy, as well as a healthy helping of tricks and treats. On Halloween night, the street will close between the hours of 7pm and 11pm for a massive block party. Halloweek also features the Devliicious Ghoulinary Dining Tour at village restaurants and a Village Jack-o’-Lantern Contest, which will be held on Saturday, October 27th.

Do you enjoy horror flicks? From October 22nd and 26th at Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, you’ll have the chance to behold horror and blood-curdling films at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. For years, the festival has attracted—and delighted—thousands of horror flick lovers and adrenaline junkies. Expect a frightening blend of new-age horror, sci-fi, and short films from filmmakers across the globe.

If it’s darkness you seek, try Fort York After Dark Lantern Tours. Held at Fort York, a national historic site, the tour guides will share ghost stories and facts about this mysterious place. From the bloody battle of York, to the haunted lighthouse, there will be plenty of scares for you to share with your friends when you leave.
