For his latest project, Andrew Hunter, the Art Gallery of Ontario's curator of Canadian art, has culled over 100 works by Canadian veteran and artist Alex Colville. Colville's work-deeply intimate, at times tense and troubled-includes such pieces as Horse and Train and Man on Verandah 1953; and Target Pistol and Man, 1980. Colville was a Toronto native and veteran of the Second World War; the latter often tints his subjects in a macabre manner. His works are on display now until January 4th of next year. Read More
