Explore Off-the-Beaten-Path, Secret Toronto Attractions

Every city has its secrets, preserved for locals and visitors privileged enough to be in the know. That's where we come in. Our hotel staff is known not only for the exemplary service we provide, but our deep love for the city we call home. That's why we want to share this brief guide to some of the most interesting attractions in Toronto – so you might know Canada's most popular city as we do, and come back often to explore more! Our favorite off-the-beaten-path sights include:

Romantic Skyline Views from Chester Hill Lookout

10 Chester Hill Road

Torontonians love this tucked away vantage point with sweeping vistas of the city skyline and Don Valley, just 4 kilometers from our hotel. Be sure to come at night, and share the view with someone special.

Some of Canada's Finest Architecture

1840 Birchmount Road

Half an hour northeast of Intercontinental Toronto Yorkville, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a Hindu temple of otherworldly beauty, built from 24,000 hand-carved pieces of Italian marble, Turkish and Indian stones. Constructed in concordance with ancient texts, it took 18 months to complete, and is a marvelous sight when lit up at night.

Ferry Away to Toronto Island Beaches

Jack Layton Ferry Terminal

One of the most popular ways locals spend their summer is in the tranquil escape of Toronto Islands. May through Labor Day, ferries leave from the terminal in Harbour Square Park as early as 6:35am, returning as late as midnight. All-day round-trip adult tickets are only $7.25. Once on the islands, hit the beaches (July-August), rent a bicycle to explore the trails, visit Historic Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, or treat the kids to a day at Centreville Amusement Park and the petting zoo at Far Enough Farm.
