Bloor-Yorkville Icefest 2015: Winter Festival Fun in Toronto

Bloor-Yorkville Ice Fest 2015
February 21-22, 2015

A local tradition now in its 10th year, the Bloor-Yorkville Icefest will transform downtown Toronto into a majestic winter wonderland on February 21st and 22nd. Come out to explore this year's theme, "Frozen in Time," through incredibly crafted ice sculptures surrounding this first-class shopping district. The weekend will be chockfull of events and activities for the whole family. Check out ice carving competitions, or try your own hand at an interactive carving station. Check out the demos by talented sculptors before you chisel your own masterpiece in a block of ice.

Come out for the festivities 12 noon to 5 p.m. both days at the Village of Yorkville Park. The winter celebration takes place in the thriving cultural district near University of Toronto. For "Frozen in Time", families can admire the showcase of ancient Eygptian-inspired art. See the likeness of King Tut, Pharaohs, an Anubis and structures of Egyptian Gods and mythology erected from 20,000 pounds of ice. Crafted with stunning detail, it's hard to believe that these works of art are able to melt.

In addition to the ice sculptures already made and in progress, explore a lively scene with plenty to see and do. Enjoy live DJ music entertainment and plenty of regional refreshments available onsite. Sip on a hot drink, or sample the sweet and savory local flavors of popular places like Carens Wine and Cheese, Carol's Cheesecake Company, Crêpes à GoGo, Holt Renfrew, Jacques Bistro du Parc and Sassafraz. This event invites visitors to experience the authentic French fare Ontario is famous for.

Book your stay at our downtown Toronto hotel, and enjoy luxurious accommodations within walking distance of this trendy district, home to destination hotspots for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
