Toronto Pride Week
June 21-30, 2013
With an attendance of more than 1.2 million people, Toronto Pride Week has grown to be one of the largest attended pride festivals in the world. The event brings together Toronto's LGBTTIQQ2SA* community to celebrate the history, courage and future of this diverse group of people. Pride Toronto is a premier cultural and arts festival featuring international exhibits, a colorful parade, street vendors, live entertainment, music showcases and a city full of pride.
One of the most popular events is the Kick Out the Jams music showcase held live on Friday, June 28 on the Pride Toronto Bud Light South Stage. The 2013 lineup includes The Cliks, Light Fires, Carole Pope, Diamond Rings and DJ Triple X. Lining up on Saturday at 1:00pm, a don’t miss segment of Toronto Pride Week is the Dyke March. Feel free to join in as Toronto celebrates passion diversity and most of all, PRIDE!
Finishing off the week filled with activities, the 33rd annual Pride Parade begins at 2pm on Sunday, June 30th. Every year, the energy of the LGBTTIQQ2SA* community spills into the streets filled with colorful themed floats, marching groups, human rights advocates and the always appreciated PFLAG. Riding along in the parade is this year’s 2013 International Grand Marshal – human rights defender Marcela Romero. The theme for this year’s Toronto Pride Parade is “SUPERQUEER!”
