Doors Open Toronto: Explore Buildings & Architecture

Now in its 16th year, Doors Open Toronto will invite guests behind closed doors on the weekend of May 23-24, 2015. If you want to take a special tour of the city, this free event gives guests unrivaled access to admire the architecture all around. Step inside of more than 155 buildings that boast architectural, historical, cultural, and/or social significance. Find out what makes the downtown Toronto skyline so remarkable and unique. Since Toronto will be hosting the 2015 Pam Am/Parapan AM Games, this year's inspired theme is Sports, Recreation and Leisure. Stroll around private and public recreational sites, including athletic stadiums and aquatic centers.

Walk around inside really neat buildings like:

  • Afterburn Performance Fitness
  • All About Dogs, Inc.
  • Amsterdam Brewery
  • Black Creek Community Farm
  • Campbell House Museum
  • Canadian Music Centre - Chalmers House
  • Church of the Holy Trinity
  • Gibson House Museum
  • Heliconian Hall
  • Jing Yin Temple
  • University of Toronto

From universities to churches, cathedrals, galleries, local businesses, and beyond, learn more about when these buildings were built, why, and in what style. While you're out and about, you'll stumble upon special exhibits and fascinating talks that share interesting tidbits. If you want to sightsee in Toronto, this is the ideal time to soak in so much of this beautiful city.  Toronto City Hall, celebrating its 50th anniversary, will be a happening hotspot with special programming, including a photographic exhibition.

Book your reservations and InterContinental Yorkville Toronto so you can participate in this beloved local event. While you're here, you can admire panoramic views of the city at our SkyLounge patio, which was voted the best in Toronto.
